St. George Lodge Advancement on the 14th February

The Lodge was opened by the W. Master Brother Peter Craven.
After the minutes were read, the Treasure and Secretary waited on the candidate who signed the book of registration and paid the fees. He was then presented to the W. Master who then advanced Brother Anthony William Ackroyd, who is the catering manager of Garston Masonic Hall, in a superb manner, with a little assistance from V.W. Brother Derek Horrocks who explained the signs.
The Senior Warden assisted by the Junior Warden tried to prevent the advancement going by there abuse and treatment of the candidate, but our trusty Senior Deacon Brother Geoff soon sorted them out and rest of the ceremony went without a hitch. In any other business the icing was on the cake when a proposal for a joining member along with another brother for advancement.

We had a lovely festive tableĀ - tomato soup two pork chops big enough to feed one man and his dog and rhubarb crumble. V.W. Brother Derek Horrocks proposed a toast to the new advanced Bother, who responded by saying that it was it was way beyond any thing that he had expected and that he looked forward to being part of such a friendly lodge.

And then a damp cold journey hope.
